A lover of music all my life,
I was fortunate enough to hear Great Music since I was a child
and the privilege of learning to play the piano.
Since my teen years,
I have taught music to beginners and intermediate musicians,
watching the love of music spread through the generations.

For me,
I was introduced to classical music first,
however I have learned to embrace music from every culture,
finding country, rock and many other “kinds” of music inspiring.
Although performance music is the “most common” form we are all familiar with,
learning music as a way to enjoy life itself has been my focus.
From the concert hall of listing to professionals
to immersing myself in the raw sounds of the Public Drum Circle;
Finding music deeply spiritual and sheer fun.
To celebrate my love for it,
I have developed a line of jewelry with musical themes,
including both instruments and musical notation.

The Grand Staff Amulet

When one observes most music written for the piano
– or any score which embraces “most” of the notes
– one typically comes across the Grand Staff.
This is actually the Treble (G) Clef above
and the Bass (F) clef below.
Between the stack of five lines above and five below,
is found Middle “C” – found in the center of a keyboard.
This “short hand” way of writing music simplifies the process
adding ledger lines above and below where needed.
Typically the grand staff includes an additional bracket
known as “the brace” with key and time signatures included.

Combining the two clefs into a single glyph
and excluding the brace and the lines,
the piece is simplified into a concept:
the full spectrum of sound.
A back bail is provided
behind the treble clef to hang the pendant on a chain or cord of cord,
hiding the way it is hung so it looks like it is floating.

The Grand Staff Amulet would be ideal for anyone who studies or simply appreciates music.
