When on the circuit
I spent a lot of time with the Society of Creative Anachronisms (SCA).
The SCA is an international group developed to preserve the arts and sciences of the medieval period,
like a “living museum” demonstrating calligraphy,
Music and even combat.
To create jewelry that these folks were interested in,
I made crowns, necklaces and other “period” pieces
as well as a series of small weapons to be worn as charms,
earrings and other jewelry.
After some time had passed
I looked down at my cases and mused
if I was to create a charm bracelet with sword and ax,
I could call it a “Harm Bracelet”.
I was surprised at the response:
a great deal of laughter!
Every now and again I make one and set it out in the cases more as a conversation piece,
but the folks kept buying them!
Now, it has been well over ten years since I attended Pensic
(their giant East Coast gathering of the many Kingdoms
to do great battle on the field by day and brag about their prowess at night!)
I was going over my work to see what I may have over looked.
Lo and Behold, the Harm Bracelet was shining at me!
And so, after many years of slumber,
the Harm Bracelet is again available through Amulets by Merlin.
The Harm Bracelet is a sterling chain with a series of weapons:
the Sun Sword, the Mace, the Morning Star,
and various axes:
all soldered to the chain with a lobster clasp for security.
Each bracelet is made for the person who ordered it,
so you have the ability to “customize it” should you wish for modifications.
The Harm Bracelet
is for those who wish to make a statement: “I am Armed!”
